Rules

We abide by World Poker Tour Rules.

The game will commence with one player shuffling the cards and spreading them across the table. Each player will select a card (other than the two end ones) and the highest card is the dealer. If more than one player has the same high card, then all players select again and will continue to do so until there is one clear winner.

The deck of cards must be cut by the person on the dealers right side and must be more than five cards on the top and bottom pile. A players cannot "tap" the top of the deck to substitute cutting.

  1.  If a player shows another player his cards when both are active, then he must fold his hand and forfeit all chips already bet.
  2.  If player shows another player his hand after he has folded, he must show all other players on their request.
  3.  The minimum bet for the round must equal the “big Blind” wager.
  4. The first increase (or raise) in betting for each round must be at least double of the big blind or any amount more than double, after that any raise is possible, (unless a player is all-in).
  5.  If a card if upturned whilst being dealt, then that card is shown to all players then takes the place of the card that is normally burned before “the flop”. The next card in the deck is then dealt to the next player and the player whose card was upturned receives the last one dealt.
  6.  In the case of an error by the dealer, he must first try to reconstruct the hand. If he can't then the cards are re shuffled and re-dealt. The game cannot be folded due to a misdeal if substantial betting has been completed.
  7.  If a number of players are eliminated in a row then the game is reconstructed so who ever's turn it was to place the “big Blind” must still place it. The “small blind may miss out and it may (depending on who or how many was eliminated) the previous dealer may have to deal again. The “Big Blind” must be placed by someone as that constitutes in minimal bet for that round. Each player must take his turn at playing the big blind.
  8.  Whatever the minimal bet is set at for the start of each round (big blind) then this bet will be for the entire betting round - the TURN and RIVER card will not double. If the Big Blind has to go ‘all in' on an amount that is less than the nominated amount for the big blind, then this amount will constitute the big blind minimal bet for the first round. This reverts back to the correct "big blind" amount for each next round of betting. If the big blind is smaller than the small blind the minimal placed bet for each player is the “Small Blind”. The betting then reverts back to the correct amount of the "big Blind" for all other rounds of batting.
  9.  When a player is moved to another table – he must be placed in a similar position (in relation to where he previous sat to the BLINDS) at the new table. If out of position he may wait in his new position until that position becomes available on the table. He can however join the game early by posting an extra big blind bet.

  1.  Where a pot is split between one or more players and the bet doesn't allow an even distribution then the odd chip will go to the person who bet first (left of the dealer). If three are involved and there is two chips over then it goes to the first two after the dealer.
  2.  A player does not have to show his hand unless he is ‘called' to do so or to prove that he has the winning hand if more than one player is left in the final action. Normal all-in situations apply.
  3.  When the blinds reach 100/200 then the every four 25 (or green) value chip will be exchanged with the black or 100 value chip. If a player only has one green then this chip will be forfeited. If a player has two or three left over then they will be upgraded to one black chip. For black chips one will be forfeited and two, three and four upgraded to a 500 chip. A player will not be down-graded out of the game - in this instance only will the player be up-graded.
  4.  If a player is running late for the start of a tournament they may ring the venue and reserve a seat. The blinds are bet in his absence and cards dealt then folded when that player is on the blinds. If the player has not arrived by the first “Blinds” increase of the game, then he will retire from the game without scoring points and chips forfeited. A player can enter the game up to the first Blind increase but must surrender chips.(Discretion of the Tourn. Director.)
  5.  If a card is flipped over (flop, turn or river) before last person has had an opportunity to place a bet, then that card and the burn card are placed back in the deck, re-shuffled and re-dealt. Same thing applies if a card is dealt before a player has the opportunity to bet.
  6.  Players will abide by all normal table etiquette (refer to etiquette sheet). Players will get one warning on bad language and then be suspended for five minutes if they persist. Any following offences will result in suspension from the game. If a player becomes too intoxicated during a tournament, he may be asked to leave the table or ordered not to drink any more alcohol. This is on the discression of the tournament organiser.
  7.  If a player verbally bets out of turn he will be warned but is not compelled to follow this when his turn is officially available. If he has placed his chips in for the bet, then they must stay in the middle. If a player before him raises the bet and the offender now has changed his mind and doesn't want to bet - then he must forfeit his chips.
  8. A player cannot touch another's chips unless placing "Blind" bets in that player's absence.
  9. If a player turns his cards over when he goes “all in” before his turn, then the cards must remain face up for the rest of the game. (We are waiting on confirmation of what the WPT rules is here).
  10. If a player (when folding his hand) throws his cards into someone else’s cards, the Tournament Director must be called. The folding player must reveal his hand only to the T.D. who will reconstruct the hand of the person still playing.
  11.  Staff will have the final say on any disputes.
